My 4-year-old daughter is really into space right now and is interested in tiny bugs and germs as well, so this combo telescope and microscope was a great find. (Plus, it was on sale!) My husband set the telescope up Christmas night, and the moon looked amazing! The moon filled almost the entire view, and you could see the craters, too. Set-up was a breeze and the tripod was sturdy. It was very cold outside, so I didn't get to stay out long to see the stars. We also haven't set up the microscope yet, so I cannot comment on that either. However, I am very satisfied with the quality of the telescope, which gives me high hopes for the microscope! I am familiar with using microscopes after just completing a course in microbiology, and this microscope looks like it will work pretty well. I think that this is a great starter set for children interested in science. If my daughter continues to show interest, I am considering upgrading her telescope from 600 to the more expensive 1000!

We purchased this gift for our child for xmas. They asked for a microscope and telescope due to their interest in science. The box and instructions all promote a neat and exciting product. Once opened, the scope on the telescope is not easy to mount and also does not really show anything. We took it outside to view the full moon, and all we saw was a slightly larger, and blurry version of what we could see with the naked eye. Product is cheaply made and not worth the price we paid. Slides for microscope are cartoony.

Comments about Edu Science Microscope & Telescope Combination Set:

I bought this for my son for Christmas and we just finally got around to using it. The telescope is ok, though one of the pieces doesn't even fit in the hole it is supposed to. The microscope on the other hand is the biggest piece I've ever encountered. I figured it wouldn't be fantastic as it's a "kids" one, but when we look through it the light is simply blinding and we can't see anything past the light. I work with microscopes, so it's not a human error here. Don't waste your money, it was very very disappointing.
