Product Description

Powerful rotation for your Power Functions! Add an extra XL-Motor to your LEGO creations! This super-strong motor will give plenty of power to your models, whether it's spinning a wheel or turning a system of gears. Use the XL-Motor to animate larger builds. Requires battery box, not included.

To be able to understand why LEGO has been successful for so long, just look to the name. LEGO originally got its name from founder Ole Kirk Christiansen who combed the Danish words "Leg Got" which means "play well". He later realized that LEGO in Latin translates to "I put together. The LEGO set became a standard of creative play for children worldwide, unlocking the creativity to build vehicles, buildings, cities and more. Historians point to the invention of the wheel as a major turning point in world history. The invention of the LEGO wheel had the same monumental effect in the history of LEGO, making it possible to create cars, trucks and eventually the LEGO train building set that is one of the most successful LEGO sets of all time. LEGO currently produces about 20 billion LEGO bricks a year and has sold over 400 billion LEGOs in their history -- enough for every person on the planet to have over 60 LEGOs each!

A must-have motor for your Power Functions collection! With a speed of 220 rotations per minute, it is one of the slowest of the Power Functions motors, but is also one of the strongest! With it comes a torque of 600 MA, which means it is basically unstoppable! If you plan on building a monstrous RC vehicle, then buy the XL motor, which is capable of tugging very large vehicles! And if that's not enough, two XL motors can propel vehicles of MASSIVE proportions! The dimensions of this motor are 5 (height) by 5 (width) by 6 (length) modules. Technic is based off of ODD numbers, not even, so this motor should be easy to fit into your Technic constructions. Take care of this motor, as just with any motor, dropping it will result in critical damage to the speed.

Comments about LEGO Power Functions XL-Motor (8882):

This larger Techne motor is necessary to run any of the larger vehicles/cranes efficiently.
Its only disadvantage is its size.
We have smaller motors in RC vehicles that are 10 times more powerful.
I am surprised Lego has such wimpy motors.

Comments about LEGO Power Functions XL-Motor (8882):

It is a definitive motor that can give life to the drive system of Technic cars & trucks. It can pull heavy loads without showing any signs of stalling. It is definitely the most powerful motor as it has the highest torque among all LEGO power functions motors. It has tremendous power, having the unique to twist and bend axles. I would highly recommend the following below:

Great product for the Technic builder!

        By mjotrainbrain

        from Grand Rapids

Comments about LEGO Power Functions XL-Motor (8882):

The LEGO Technic Power Functions XL Motor is a great product. It's power is immense and is excellent for high torque applications. I am not mean to my motors, but I have gone though three M-motors (great for light duty work) and haven't gone through my XL, which I put though much meaner tasks. If you love building trial trucks, this motor gives the torque you need to get over the obstacles. This motor is a great test for any builder, as it will find any and all flaws in your 'perfect' gearbox once you introduce some resistance. I must give a word of warning, however. If you are not careful with your gear bracings, this motor will make mincemeat of LEGO gears. Everything considered, this is a great motor and I plan to buy more in the near future.
