Pretty solid Bionicle toy. It was slightly larger than I expected, and also less gappy than I had expected after seeing several reviews for it online. It was fun to put together as well, using slightly more technic building techniques than the smaller sets.

This set is sturdy, bulky, has a lot of friction, and has no problem standing up. The build was fun and unique, the action fear in both the hands and the war work well deep the size of the set, and the color scheme really really help make this guy look corrupted.

Bionicle fans will appreciate the awesomeness of this character. Lego tinkerers will love the many parts they can utilize in custom creations. This guy's size will definitely give the Bionicle Heroes something to think about as they try to defeat him. Experienced to moderate Bionicle builders will enjoy every 15 to 20 minutes it takes to assemble this character.

This boss Bionicle is BIG with lots of cool parts that you can use other ways later. Of course the mask makes it and is the key part of the character. You'll have fun putting him together and when he's built, he's pretty awesome. The Bionicle heroes are in for a fight with this bad boy and they'll need ALL there skills, powers and team work to bring him down.

Utterly Disgusting in an Excellent Way

          By FPSGamingPro

          from Coquitlam

Comments about LEGO Bionicle Umarak The Destroyer (71316):

Umarak the Destroyer, an utterly disgusting yet amazing set. For this set, I expected massive quality yet a completely distorted look in a good way. My expectations were certainly exceeded as this set is really amazing. This character is meant to be Umarak after he had the corrupted power of the Mask of Control on him. It was certainly a step away from Umarak's original secondary color of translucent green, but the new yellowish-green color is also suitable. The biggest complaint I see about this set is the neck. It is said to be too long and has too little armor to makeup for its emptiness, but I think it is a perfect length. It makes him look distorted like he is supposed to. He is meant to be a completely corrupted figure, and his totally distorted neck is a good way to display that. As such, I think his neck is amazing. His head is also very good, as we can all see that the Mask of Control had some serious deterioration. It may be one of the only few gold pieces (the others being his horns), yet it just shows that he has some significance as a character. The gold is perfect to display him as a subordinate of Makuta, as gold is always considered an "important" color. As such, I have no issue with his head and horns being the only gold pieces on him. His back is fairly empty with only a gun-metal skull armor yet it looks totally fine, as it blends with his color scheme well. His legs are quite empty and also very distorted, but it defines his character well and I love the way it looks despite general consensus disagreeing. The extra smaller feet in the back just stabilizes him more. His frontal body is covered very well with the massive armor piece along with Shadow-Trap halves on his shoulders. The chain attached is amazing as the color makes it look like metal and makes him look even more brutal. His legs and the Shadow-Trap halves are all very reminiscent of his Hunter incarnation. His arms are among the coolest part about him. His geared fingers are possibly the best hands we have seen in all of Bionicle since Hydraxon in 2007. The geared mechanism just adds so much amazing playability to the set. In addition, he has the waist articulation and it doesn't interfere with his balance at all. He stands perfectly tall and straight if needed and totally hunched over to look more menacing. His color scheme is extremely consistent all throughout. This character bears a lot of resemblance to Umarak the Hunter yet still looks like his own unique character. Like with Kopaka 2015 and Skull Basher, this set is virtually flawless. It also has a great price and a lot of good parts for your value. He is slightly lacking in having new parts, but the amount of rare parts he comes with makes up for this small issue. This set may possibly be the best set in all of Bionicle Generation 2, competing for the spot against Kopaka 2015 and Skull Basher (it would earn an honorable mention for my Top 10 Best Bionicle Sets List). Overall, this set is amazing, well-designed, reasonably priced and has a good towering size. Lego has certainly proven that they still have plenty of fresh and good ideas even after all this time. Excellent set, Lego!

          A fearsome build.

          By DMtheGM

          from Undisclosed

Comments about LEGO Bionicle Umarak The Destroyer (71316):

I love the villain kits for Bionicle and this is one of the best looking ones in years. I haven't enjoyed putting one together this much since Maxilos and Spinax (8924) way back in '07. The legs are really cool looking with their digitigrade style and the arms and claws are awesome. The whole kit with it's size and angles really looks like a "final boss". As has been said by others, the opening and closing of the claws is very nice. It works as a neat feature and helps ease the "sagging" of joints I usually get in kits this large after a while. If I had to give any negative feedback, it would be that I wish the horns were a little better designed (firstly they should be gold like the mask), and the "neck" of the kit being rigid is a little disappointing. Overall it's the biggest and best baddie I've seen out of Bionicle in a while, a must have!

          The Destroyer Has Arrived

          By SLS1

          from Undisclosed

Comments about LEGO Bionicle Umarak The Destroyer (71316):

Let me start out by saying it is wonderful to get the first true titan of the bionicle reboot, and as our big bad of the year no less. While I do believe this form of Umarak has less character for him due to trading out his hunter motif in favor of being what looks to be a raging brute, it gives Makuta a lot of character, showing that he is willing to destroy the lives of those who helped him to achieve his goals. With the trans lime green coming out of the mask of control this really feels like an infection spread across his body, he looks tortured, with his legs stretched out and crystal tumors sprouting out of his arms, the one's on his lower arms could be interpreted as either crystals growing out or his bones being broken out of his wrists. He has the standard waist articulation function which is very much appreciated, but along with that his hands are geared so he can open and close them by turning the bohrok eyes attached to the sides, and along with that all three fingers can be moved, my only problem with this guy stems from the fact his feet do not have a very large range of motion and the jaw cannot close, I understand it's for the action feature of knocking off the mask but it would have been nice to be able to close it without knocking it off. Overall, I feel this is a solid set that any self respecting Bionicle fan should purchase, it i worth the price and has a great build.
