Follow these steps to update Tabeo:
Step 1. Download the update file to your computer
Click the red "Download" link below and save the file to your desktop. (If asked if you want to "Open" or "Save" the file, select "Save.") Do not open the file at this time.
When you download the new file, your browser may warn you that the file "could be harmful to your computer." This is normal because some browsers are not familiar with files that have a .ZIP extension and suspect that they could be malicious. However, these files are not harmful to your computer.
(File name: update.zip)
Improvements made by firmware:
- Improved Battery life
- No audio sound fixed
- Minor bugs fixed
- Boot up enhanced
Step 2. Connect Tabeo to your computer with the USB cable
Once the cable is connected, select "Turn on USB Storage" on Tabeo's screen. Within a few seconds, Tabeo will be detected by your computer.
Step 3. Copy and paste the downloaded file ("update.zip") onto the device
Tabeo will be detected as a "Hard Drive" in Windows® Explorer/Computer/My Computer. Open this "Hard Drive" and you will see the various Tabeo folders inside (e.g. Video, Music, etc.). Paste the update file into this area, but be careful not to paste the file into any of the other folders. Once the paste has completed, the update file will be on the Tabeo drive, as seen here:
Reminder: Do not open/unzip the file.
Step 4. Disconnect the device
Once the file is finished copying from your computer to Tabeo, select "Turn off USB storage." You can now unplug the USB cable.
Step 5. Charge device using USB power adapter
Plug the USB cord into the power adapter, and plug the adapter into the wall. It is highly recommended that you charge your device while it updates.
Step 6. Launch the "Upgrade" application from Tabeo
From the apps tray (located in the upper right hand corner of the home screen), launch "Upgrade" and then select "Update." The upgrade process will start automatically. If it does not start automatically, please ensure that the file named "update.zip" or "update" has not accidentally been placed into any other Tabeo folder (see Step 2).
