The Gears! Gears! Gears! Movin' Monkeys set from Learning Resources pairs fun monkey figures with all of the interactive Gears! parts needed to build them a moving jungle playground. Using over 100 pieces, kids build their own fun playset, snapping Gears! pieces into place according to the included instructions. After they've built it, kids can turn this Gears! Gears! Gears! set's handle, which sends the gears spinning and the monkeys bouncing and twisting through the colorful trees. In the middle of all this monkeying around, kids also learn valuable concepts that are essential to STEM learning, including cause and effect and engineering fundamentals. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need more cranks! I received this product as part of an incentivized review program. While the building set is age-rated 4+, young children and those with certain disabilities will need much assistance in getting the pieces to fit together. The directions provided show clear steps to follow, but again, younger children may need adult support. That being said, the pieces are certainly strong and well made. As an elementary special education teacher, I would have preferred that more than one crank piece were included such that kids could create different sections using separate bases, and then each child could have a crank to make the gears move in their separate section.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift! I gave this as a gift to a 5-year-old, and she absolutely loves it! She said that they have Gears! Gears! Gears! sets in her classroom, so she instantly knew how to construct with this set. I have watched her be entertained by all aspects of this set (the building, creativity and playing). Her mother loves that her daughter gets so engrossed with this set that it keeps her engaged for a very long time, and the set is educational without her daughter knowing it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the budding engineer! A game and challenge for the budding engineer. My 5 year old "loved how the moneys move" Great challenge for grown to read the instructions to the buddy engineer for them to build. Matches colours and windy bits. Little brown pieces are a little fiddly but perfectly workable with. Monkeys move from one end to the other and then spin around too. Lots of combinations to build and to be able to make your own creation turn was fabulous. Kept our 5 years entertained for a good hour....comes in a handy carry box too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Twirly whirly money's!!! My little girl couldn't wait to play with this, she had been talking about cogs and how they worked. Once we had put it together, using the instructions (very basic, so slow off the mark!!) we had great fun and then she went off on her own to use her own imagination to create new ways of moving the cogs. Must say that if you use the whole length, as the instructions the pink turn handle is quite hard for my daughter to move the cogs with. But when she built a smaller one, it worked a lot easier. Overall it's very colourful and "it's like a monkey disco" in my daughters words.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Endless play with this awesome set! I am a huge fan of the gears line and we already own a few different gears sets. I absolutely love how this set encourages my 3 year old to use her creativity and imagination to build whatever she wants! She did need some help putting some of the pieces together but overall she was able to build it on her own. I love that the possibilities are endless with these gears sets and it keeps kids occupied for a while! The instruction booklet was helpful as it shows some basic building tips. There are a ton of pieces so i love that the box is a good storage and we can put it all back in the box when she is done playing with it. Another awesome gears set!  ( I received this product as part of an incentivized review program.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It should have been much cheaper My daughter loved the monkeys but they get in the way of the ropes and screws and it gets really hard to steer the handle. Gears pop out of their sockets because of the stuck monkeys. They also fall from the trees very easily. When you want to turn the handle you need to hold the thing in its place but there is nothing to hold on to. This an engineering game that is not engineers good enough. With these flaws, it should have been much cheaper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My four year old son and seven year old daughter and myself played with this toy when we initially received it. The instructions are a little unclear to build the "main project" so we changed it up and were building our own play set. Both children really enjoyed it. We have played with it a bunch of times since. My daughter even had a friend over last night and they played with it for an hour! It's a very fun toy that I would recommend. I have never heard of this toy prior to receiving it, but we were excited to try it. It's somewhat similar to other group play sets we have but my kids really enjoy it. I would purchase this item if we didn't already have it and would recommend it to other parents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jungle Creations I received this product as part of an incentivised review program. I am an elementary teacher and an aunt to a 8 and 5 year old. I think this product would be great for imaginative play in school. My 8 year old niece and 5 year old nephew have nearly the whold set of Gear!Gears!Gears! and they really love building with the products. What is great about this one is its ability for students to create an imaginative moving jungle for all of the monkey's to play on. The colors are attractive and there are so many building possibilities.
