The Harry Potter set you should get
It was an interesting build, I liked the small rooms, the water and the Goblet of fire references. The castle is beautifully made. The size is perfect too. Awesome.

A must for HP fans
I can’t imagine any Harry Potter fan disliking this. As a whole, it’s exceptional. The intricate details are where this build stands out. There are a lot of little pieces so your fingers may get sore or tired, just to be honest. That being said, it’s actually exciting seeing each section come together. It’s a build you enjoy the whole way through and one that you don’t want to stop and take breaks from. Enjoy this one. It’s worth the full price, so if you can get it for any less in any way, it’s an absolute steal.

Every detail is perfect, and it all comes together so well. You just start building and before you know it you've got a full castle. The techniques used in building it are really fun and give tons of support around the whole structure. It's awesome too as a big Harry Potter fan having all of the different easter eggs. 10/10 build for me, wish I could do it again

Awesome idea and experience
I had a blast building this set and, it looks great on display once built. If you don't have the space or budget for the larger hogwarts castle I highly recommend this set. I hope lego continues to do sets like this with other licensed ips. Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings would be awesome in this scale.

One of the All time Best Builds
This castle was one of my all time favorite builds I have ever done. The pieces were fun and the directions were fun. The outcome is amazing it's a big build that was worth every second and penny. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this build to any harry potter/lego fan. Thank you for this castle Lego!

Magical!
A wonderful and magical build. What was so great about this build is the use of so many pieces in unique ways. Lots of hidden features. It was a good idea to build it in sections so it wasn't boring building the base first. It was an excellent price as well.

Pro’s and Con’s
I love the finished product. I couldn’t wait to cover up all the ugly combinations of colors. I understand the need for reference colors, and yet, they could be more pleasant to look at. This would have made the build much more pleasurable.

Great Look - Poor Instructions
I do not write many reviews, I've done many 18+ and model like sets including most of the Lego architecture sets... So like many of you - having things aligned and little 1x1 is very tedious and important to the overall aesthetic.
Whomever created these instructions clearly doesn't care about alignments. So many stacked small pieces they have you build in a terrible order.
Example: instead of building a stack of 4 1x1 tiles, they'll have you attach one by one to the base model and try to stack on the base plate.
Also found instructions are missing a few pieces in the inventory box but show up in the photo - be very careful.
Overall looks great when it's done - but be prepared for 22 bags of very very small pieces with poor instructions.

Very detailed and a fun way to spend my time.
I loved building this set. It was very enjoyable and I look forward to more builds in the future! Even my four year old son enjoyed helping me!
I would have liked to have the distant pillars of the quidditch field along the border.

AFOL Build of the Year!!
A design that is perfect for adults to truly enjoy! You actually BUILD it, not assemble with panels and walls. The detail is striking and will be a wonderful display piece. THANK YOU LEGO for making a set that AFOLs can spend the day in fun and fantasy. I know people will be upset that it is not playable for children, but there are lots of us adults who want to have magic fun also.

Great… but…
Overall the set is amazing with a ton of Easter eggs and highlights from the movies/books. However first bag had several missing pieces and there are pages that don’t specify all the pieces you need. Luckily if you are checking and being thorough you shouldn’t miss them. Reference 246-247 of book one there is a brown slant piece that needs to be placed but the pieces menu doesn’t specify you need it for that page.

The bigger and more expansive verison has ton of detials but it didn't fully gave 360 outlook of the hogwarts but this one did really brought the wholesome package of Hogwarts Castle. I had ton of fun building it and this is a great display to my collection

A wonderful LEGO building experience
From start to finish this was a fantastic building experience. I loved the simple detail in the rooms underneath the castle, as well as the build techniques to bring them to life. The two-tone water effect is probably my favorite. Having the more ginormous Hogwarts Castle (#71043) it's easy to see how difficult it must have been to capture the detail of Hogwarts in such a small scale, but this set absolutely packs a punch despite its size. As one reviewer already mentioned, it displays exceptionally well next to other Architecture sets. If you're on the fence about getting this set...get 2!!!!...one to build and one to give away this Christmas!!
A minor detail (or details) that would've really made it pop could have been to somehow incorporate a micro mini version of Hagrid's hut somewhere, and maybe a couple teeny-tiny boats depicted making their way to the lower boathouse. Otherwise this rendition of Hogwarts is TOP NOTCH!! Hats off to the designer!! Oh, and the exclusive minifigure is super cool!!!

This has been my favorite Lego build to date. The design was superbly done, with just a few personal modifications. I really enjoy this smaller scale, and hope Lego continues making more small scale (but still detailed) sets in the future.

Easter Eggs!
I think this build was so cool because of all the hidden easter eggs. I would like a little bit more (like building the restroom that leads to the chamber of secrets or the deuling table). I think there was 1 mistake on there that I had to figure out myself. Overall very cool!

Great set with fun details
Love this set, especially with the fun micro scale details from the various books. We were pleased with the addition of items from goblet of fire. Overall very happy, but slightly let down by the rising costs of new sets.

One of my favorite builds!
What a fun set! The entire build was full of surprises and storytelling. I had seen a few advertisements about this set but nothing mentioned all the nooks and crannies and easter eggs in the set. I only bought the set to have a small scale model to set next to my larger MOC but this set turned out to be one of my favorite sets to build.

Hogwarts Castle & Grounds
I loved it! I’m generally a huge fan of micro scale builds, especially architecture and this definitely fits the bill for that style of set. I enjoyed all the Easter eggs that were included from the first 4 books/movies. I loved that there were no stickers, all pieces were printed on which made the build experience much better! Even though there were a lot of small parts (ie 1x1/1x2 studs, tiles, plates and bricks) this was made up for with the use of sweet techniques like snot plates to add reinforced structural integrity to the overall build and look. It included one minifigure I didn’t know existed so that was fun to read and learn about! Overall fun build and well worth the price!

Great set piece with some drawbacks
I preordered this set prior to its official release. I was super excited for a scaled down version of Hogwarts as I simply did not have the room to display the full-sized castle set. While I look forward to seeing the finished product, my building has been halted due to a number of missing pieces. Mt first missing piece came in bag 9 and unfortunately you don't know the pieces are missing until you find out the hard way mid build. That said, Lego customer service has been working with me to identify and send me any missing pieces. A great set marred by some unfortunate issues. Build on lego fans!

I have both sets of the Hogwarts Castle currently available. I prefer this one. The micro-build was not only fun but challenging due to the vast majority of pieces being small. I appreciate that the focus is the entirety of the grounds and not the main portion of the castle.

Really nice set
Pros: lots of Easter Eggs throughout the build and the facts detailed in the instructions was a nice touch.
Con: Some of the instructions were off, but ultimately you are still able to complete the set.
