Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the new trains, both Duplo and Powered Up! This train is cute as a button, and the action bricks are a brilliant feature. I'm looking forward to using this as part of an upcoming LEGO library Display & Play Event. The modest price makes it a great way to get started with Duplo trains, or even use it as an expansion pack with other train sets. My only reservation is the design of the battery compartment. It took several tries to get the batteries all seated properly and the lid closed without one of the batteries popping loose again. Once everything was in place, though, I had *no* problem with the amount of power available in the engine, and it is a pleasure to operate!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great App Integration Santa gave my 18mo this for Christmas. It is simple to set up and use. We bought it so that our older son could play together with youngest. Works perfectly for that. Making the set is easy, i’d recommend getting extra sets so there’s more track. App Set up is easy and straightforward and worked straight away on our Apple devices (IoS 12) Youngest loves the push and go so no app needed. Our 4yo loves the app and the extra interactive games. We had a lot of old style black track from years ago, it works perfectly with that. Ths only issue is the old style bridge doesn’t have enough grip. This was fixed with a thin wipe of PVA of the track surface! We now have a hump back bridge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steam Train for grandson Ok, so we were trying to come up with something for Christmas for our 3 1/2 year old grandson. I saw this in some ad, and logged in to check it out. Decided it was way cute...shared with husband who agreed. Bought this set plus extra tracks. It was a hit! He loves trains...I have the Christmas train and he loved that. So when he got his own train, he was pleased. It is far cooler than we ever imagined. Mom and Dad were also thrilled. All in all, a hit! Quick and easy to set up. It is easy for him to handle on his own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome train This is an awesome set. In particular the app that allows to control the train is a lot of unexpected fun. It controls the train movement, honks, reacts to action bricks - it offers minigames that feature other parts of the set. It would be nice if the manual about the electric train was more detailed - it seems to have features. Such as one axle is motorized and the other has a motion sensor. So making the train run, it is actually easier to slightly lift the back wheels and push rather than just push. It was a little tricky to properly insert the batteries but they seem to last quite a bit. The train seems to have quite a bit of power and can pull several pieces. It would be good to have two green action bricks - then the tracks could be linear rather than a loop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for 3 year old builder My 3 year old is a huge Duplo fan! She loves to build. This train set is superb. YES, you will need to change the batteries a ridiculous amount, (especially if you have the bridge pieces.) We love the interactive app option that allows my daughter to change the color of the train lights and blow the whistle whenever she pleases. She loves reversing the train. She also loves the characters and the squirrel included with the set. It was a perfect hit for Christmas!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for my daughters! Both of my daughters (2yo & 3yo) love playing with Legos (as their daddy does). Daddy also loves playing with trains. What a perfect combination! The train is very easy to set up and play with. It is nice having the extra track so you can make more interesting track designs. Never used the app for the train because, why bother? The only thing that I wish was if there was a way to simply purchase extra train cars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do it. I don't often feel compelled to leave a review. My husband and I are super into lego and have built pretty much everything. We got this for our almost 2 year old son for Christmas. (we obviously couldn't wait to try it out with him). He has a big bin of duplos that get a lot of play every day. this train is super duper fun. also: I'm so glad you DON'T NEED an app to use it. like- there is absolutely no reason why my toddler needs to get into that crap already. Anyway- My son wants us to build a new track for him every morning. He loves to place the action bricks (we do wish there were some more options for these). This has gotten a lot of use the last week. Def feel like it's a great value for the price. We bought the expansion track sets for him too, though have had the self control to wait for Christmas on those. I'm assuming the bridge one is going to be a huge hit with Mr. 2. Can't wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Train My 2 year old son loves this set. It's very easy for him to use and so far it's held up to him ( he's dropped/thrown, them). The only thing that could be improved is if they turned off automatically after so long of inactivity. If I don't notice them being on and turn them off the batteries will run down quickly but other than that no complaints.
