Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please Do More Transformers Lego Transformers has been a want in the Transformers Community for a long time and this product very much delivers that want; however, there needs to at least be a Megatron to go with him. The build was a little long but that's to be expected for an Expert build. The two biggest flaws are that he has no knees and his feet don't stay together in one piece. Having knees on such a big build would be difficult and have it be stable so that's understandable and the problem with the feet can be fixed the parts given in the set which I fixed easily. This is probably my favorite Lego set ever and I really would like a Megatron to go with him.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you enjoy your lego to fall apart... I have purchased 100s of LEGO Sets, and this is by far the absolute worst set I have purchased. It needs to be engineered better to stay together and not fall apart when moving. Every joint falls apart easily, and other parts just fall off. Even when transforming pieces just randomly will pop off. I expected it to be better especially since the Voltron build was so incredible, and well thought out. It just doesn't compare. I can appreciate the idea, but the execution was garbage. It's not even in the same league. How did this even pass through quality control? I would have paid more to have a better product. This is such a let down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not great In many ways, this toy is a better version of the original G1 hasbro toy in that it looks closer to the cartoon version, and I have to give Lego a lot of credit for making a transformable version of this. However, main weakpoint is the rotatable midsection. It is not sturdy enough to survive multiple transformations, and one must also take care when transporting as the legs have fallen off a couple of times if holding Prime above the waist. I did not have the same problem with the Voltron set which felt much more sturdy and could survive taking the lions apart from robot mode. Perharps superglue is the answer, but of course this is a last option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Childhood Dream This is a super-cool collaboration, concept & execution. The science behind making this thing work as a functional transformer is still mind boggling but the end result is a SOLID model. The legs in particular are really solid and well worth the two days it took this novice to build it. Glad to have this as part of my collection. My only gripe is I can’t seem to get the jet pack on and the piece tends to separate at the waist when I try to transform him so I’ve actually yet to get him in vehicle mode as it just gets too frustrating & I’d rather leave well enough alone. I’m not sure if I did something wrong during build or just natural for a Lego. Despite that I totally love it and plan on getting an acrylic case to display it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be an Optimist Prime, don't be a Negatron! I know that this comment is very common for this item but for me as a huge Transformers G1 and LEGO fan, this LEGO set was something I was dreaming during my childhood! The Figure and Truck looks awesome and I hope so that you will create at least Soundwave, Bumblebee... Unfortunatelly I have to mention that stability of this set is very debatable... If you want to move figure leg part with the red light brick is always disassembles, if you want to place Ion Blaster in Optimus hand, hand has an issue to keep the position and hand is falling down... I do not have an issue to change it into a truck like lot of fans and it is acceptable (not more) for me. LEGO please add an option to choose SERBIA in the country list for Write a Review section.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent engineering! Personally, I think this it one of the best Lego ideas ever! It's a robot that turns into a truck and it's made of Lego bricks! :) The design is excellent and it matches the original toy design very accurately, down to how the parts move when transforming. Though like with many Lego sets, there are some piece that fall off if you play with it. In this case, it's the pieces above the foot. I also like the accessories: sure, the "energon cube" is just some purple bricks, but it's a nice addition. I'm a little surprised by the rocket backpack because even the instruction manual says it was only used once in the TV series. I hope Lego makes more Transformers sets!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Model and spot on likeness Overall this set was well worth the money. The build time was great and the directions were well put together. The fun info about Optimus on each page made it worth my time to flip through the book multiple times. The only negatives were the stickers, while there were only a few, my anxiety and OCD can’t handle it :-) . My biggest complain is the elbow joints. While posing the figure and having Ion Blaster in one hand and Energon Axe in the other, the hands fall to the side. Once posed I would adjust one and then while adjusting the other, the first would fall. Not sure if the pieces in my set are bad or if this an overall issue because of the weight of the accessories. All in all, I love this. Would just change the elbow joint pieces to be a little tighter so they remain in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it My wife loves transformers and loves Lego so this was a fantastic anniversary gift. We loved building it together. I really hope they continue to make more transformers sets. If anyone from Lego is reading this, Shockwave is her favorite.
